Introducing the BoatSpace Dry Dock Module

BoatSpace dry dock module now manages a marina's boatyard alongside its berths, services, and payments, all on one connected platform.

Every autumn, marinas go through the same ritual. Boats come out of the water, the yard fills up, the travel lift runs from morning to evening, and the phone does not stop ringing. Behind the scenes, staff juggle whiteboards, spreadsheets, notebooks, and memory to keep it all moving.

We built the Dry Dock module to replace that scramble with one clear view of the yard, from haul-out to launch.

Why the dry dock is so hard to run

The dry dock is one of the most complex operations in a marina, and usually the least connected. A single haul-out touches the lift schedule, yard space, contractors, the boat owner, and the invoice. Each of those often lives in a different place.

The result is familiar to anyone who has worked in a boatyard:

  • Lift slots double-booked or left empty because the schedule is on paper

  • Yard space allocated from memory, with no live picture of what is free

  • Works and services on the hard tracked in notes that never reach billing

  • Owners calling the office for updates the staff have to chase down

What the Dry Dock module does

The module gives marina teams one place to plan, run and bill everything that happens on the hard.

Haul-out and launch scheduling. Every lift lives in one shared calendar. The team sees what is planned for the day and the week, and avoids clashes before they happen.

Yard space on the interactive map. The yard sits on the same digital marina map as the berths. Staff can see which spots are free, assign a boat to a location, and plan the season ahead.

Stays, works, and services. Each boat on land has a clear record: when it came out, what work or services were requested, and when it is due back in the water.

Billing and invoicing. Storage, lifting and services flow straight into BoatSpace billing. No more rebuilding the bill from scattered notes at the end of the stay.

The boat owner in the loop. Through the BoatSpace mobile app, owners can request a haul-out, follow their boat's status, and pay online, without calling the office.

Why it matters that it is connected

What makes the Dry Dock module different is that it is not standalone.

It can run on the same platform as BoatSpace berth bookings, services, CRM, payments and invoicing. A boat that moves from a berth to the yard and back to the water is one customer and one journey, not three separate records in three separate systems.

That shared foundation also means shared data. Occupancy on the water and on land, lift demand, turnaround times, and seasonality all sit in one place. Over time, that gives marinas a much clearer picture of how their yard performs, and where pricing and capacity can work harder.

The future marina does not need ten different platforms. It needs one connected system.

The Dry Dock module is available now as part of BoatSpace's modular offering. It can be added on top of the Core plan, alongside modules like Services management and Quotation Automation, so each marina pays only for what it needs.

If you run a marina or boatyard and want to see how the Dry Dock module could work for your yard, book a demo, get in touch at info@boatspace.app, or visit boatspace.app.
